The NPA is a membership organisation which helps to promote pawnbroking best practice. It was established in 1892, and is based in Bell Yard, adjacent to the Royal Courts of Justice in Fleet Street, London. The NPA's mission is to safeguard the interests of both pawnbrokers and customers alike, laying down a code of conduct for all its members.

The National Association of Goldsmiths (N.A.G)

The National Association of Goldsmiths, founded in 1894, is the national professional association of retail jewellers in the UK and Ireland. The Association promotes high professional and ethical standards among its membership to inspire consumer confidence and enhance the reputation of the industry.

Membership encompasses professional retail jewellers, both independents and multiples, who share a commitment to an honest and knowledgeable approach to their businesses. All members of the NAG must follow a code of practice, meet the objectives of the Association, and agree to operate their businesses in a professional manner with customers, their employees, the community at large, and with colleague members of the trade.

The NAG's Registered Valuers' Programme has set new standards in the valuation of jewellery items and won the approval of the British insurance industry.
